Revelation 4

Summary:

Revelation 4 and 5 open before us glimpses of the throne room of heaven, with its emerald rainbow-encircled throne, the twenty-four elders, the four living creatures—each with six wings (the first like a lion, the second like a calf, the third like a man, and the fourth like an eagle), a book sealed with seven seals, and a sacrificial lamb who has earned the right to open the seals. The reader is drawn into the scene with the realization that a solemn yet beautiful work is being accomplished in this throne room: one that affects our lives today and for eternity. The atmosphere is one of tremendous splendor, celestial music, intercession and praise.
