Revelation 16
Summary:
Revelation 16 enumerates the devastation that occurs as each of the seven last plagues is poured upon the earth. The first plague causes grievous sores upon those who have the mark of the beast. In the second, the sea is turned to blood and every living thing in the sea dies. The third plague causes the fresh water to turn to blood. In the fourth, men are scorched with the heat of the sun. The fifth brings darkness on the seat of the beast—darkness so deep that it is painful. “The sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.” The seventh angel pours his vial in the air and a voice announces, “It is done.” The worst earthquake of all history occurs, and giant hail stones, weighing about sixty pounds each, fall on the earth.
