Revelation 13

Summary:

Revelation chapter 13 introduces a beast that rises out of the sea with seven heads and ten horns, a mouth like a lion, feet like a bear, and a body like a leopard. It reigns for forty-two months (1260 days), and appears to receive a deadly wound which is subsequently healed, causing all the world to worship him. Another beast arises out of the earth, with horns like a lamb, which eventually speaks as a dragon. The earth beast creates an image to the sea beast and causes the whole earth to worship the sea beast, via the image, forcing the reception of the mark of the beast. The beast has a cryptic number which is the most famous (or infamous) number in all of Scripture—666.
