Daniel Chapter 7

Summary:

In Daniel 7 some of the most amazing details of Bible prophecy unfold and a most astonishing and universal deception is unmasked. This time, Daniel has the dream rather than Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel first sees a lion with eagle’s wings emerge from the waves of the sea, then a bear with three ribs in its mouth, followed by a leopard with four heads and four wings, and finally a terrible beast with great iron teeth and ten horns. As Daniel watches in speechless awe, another little horn comes up among the ten, uprooting three. This little horn has eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great words against God. As the angel presents the interpretation, Daniel discovers that he has been transported far into the future through the four major world empires to come: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. Daniel is then carried through the 1260 year reign of the little horn power, past the judgment, all the way to the second coming of the Messiah. Daniel has many questions, especially about the mysterious little horn. Ten distinguishing marks, in this chapter alone, identify the little horn power—a force that would “think to change times and laws.”
