Daniel Chapter 4

Summary:

God communicates a second message, by dream, to Nebuchadnezzar. This time the king remembers the dream but again turns to the magicians, sorcerers, and astrologers, for the explanation. After the magicians, sorcerers, and astrologers are unable to give an interpretation, Daniel is finally called. After hearing the dream, Daniel tells the king that the interpretation is for his enemies. The sentence comes from heaven that Nebuchadnezzar will be exiled to the pasture to eat grass like an ox and live with the beasts of the earth for seven years, until his pride is humbled. Finally, the mercy and might of the God of heaven converts the proud heart of the king of Babylon. In humble praise to the Creator of the universe, Nebuchadnezzar testifies to his entire empire of the wonders the God of heaven has wrought toward him.
