Daniel Chapter 1

Summary:

Daniel and his three friends, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah are taken captive into Babylon, and made eunuchs by king Nebuchadnezzar. When offered food and wine from the king’s table, at the risk of their lives, they purpose to follow God and request pulse and water instead of the king’s unwholesome dainties. The prince of the eunuchs was afraid that granting this request might endanger his life. Daniel proposes his famous ten day clinical trial, complete with control group, study group, and variable. At the end of the trial, Daniel and his three friends are found to be healthier, and ten times wiser than all the wise men in the realm. The wisdom that God blessed them with enabled Daniel to interpret the king’s vision in Chapter 2, which saves the lives of Daniel and his friends and the rest of the wise-men of Babylon.
